I have been suffering from Chrohns for more than 7 years, with chronic diarrhea. I have tried all of the biologics nothing seems to work. I had coloetomy three years ago. Now they are considering an ostomy. I am wondering if such a surgery is worth it. Does it improve lifestyle, not having to go to the bathroom 12-15 time a day, waking in middle of the night to go, wold be nice. I appreciate your thoughts and experiences.
Wondering in CA.

Re: Considering surgey
CA as in California or Canada?
People I've talked to with Chrohns/IBS/etc have found peace in an ostomy. Stable, pain free, etc.
You should check your region for local support groups, and sit in on some meetings if so. Can be very helpful.

Re: Considering surgey
For me, my life of 14 years post-ostomy is 1000 times better than the 20 years pre-ostomy that I suffered through with chrons. I am no longer a "cripple" confined to home.
