Secondary drain in colon
The Surgeon has placed a secondary drain, that he recently capped, in the Ascending colon, in addition to the regular stoma in the descending colon. As nothing drains, I wonder why this is there. As this is inserted in the colon, does it require surgery to remove? It is very irritating, and seems to have no purpose.
Re: Secondary drain in colon
Is this a surgical drain, installed to drain a fluid collection?
I've had a few of those, they can be removed in the doctor's office.
