Post Ileostomy Reversal thinned abdominal wall

Post by LJBM »

I am 4 most post reversal surgery. I came home with open wound at stoma site that was repacked and dressed daily until it closed. I also had four small incisions used for laproscopic procedure.

My problem is that my belly becomes so distended about mid to late afternoon. It is very uncomfortable. After a CT scan I was told no hernia but that by abdominal wall has thinned.

I am taking Myralax in the am and do have a BM every morning. It does, at times,, take up to 3 or 4 visits to the bathroom to finish emptying my morning bowel. I am a fit 66 years old and only weigh about 110 lbs. What can I do to help strengthen the ab muscles less to where there were pre-surgery.
