UOAA Discussion Board

I have a urostomy. My stoma is located high above my belt line. I have to wear large shirts because I leave the pouch outside of my pants. When I bend over the pouch will stick out. I have seen products like Stealth Belt that states you could wear the pouch horizontal instead of vertical. My question is: will the urine expel normally with the pouch is positioned horizontal. I thought the stoma and pouch needs the vertical location and gravity to efficiently expel urine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to our Discussion Board. Although I do not have a urostomy, the output from the stoma I have is very liquid much of the time. I wear a two piece appliance (one of those pop on pouching systems) & I have repositioned it to accommodate clothing.
