ileostomy and rectal Surgery Pressure
My wife had her colon removed about 4 years ago and her anus removed about 2 years ago. She suffers from a feeling of extreme pressure and followed by pain in the now vacant anus area. She is under the care of pain mgt specialist, but she is not having much luck w/ obtaining relief from the discomfort and pain. The pain at times is in the lower back and legs too. The pain mgt doctor recommends an ganglion impar injection. Anyone having success with curtailing the pain and/or the ganglion injection?
Re: ileostomy and rectal Surgery Pressure
What is causing the pain?
For instance, get a build up of fluid that produces pressure and pain. The pain goes away when the fluid drains.
