My husband had an illeostomy reversal on February 25, 2021. He is still experiencing rectal pain particularly after moving his bowels. Is this normal? When , on average, will the pain subside? His surgeon has said this is normal. He also suffers from hemorrhoids so maybe this is part of the pain? Any and all advise is welcomed. I am at a loss.

Thank you for joining our Discussion Board. Although I have a permanent ostomy, many of our members have undergone successful reversal surgeries. If you are not answered on this Forum, try posting on the Temporary one under Discussion Forums. My best to you & your husband.
