Pain after reversal

Post by joshua1969 »

Hello Everyone:
My husband had an illeostomy reversal on February 25, 2021. He is still experiencing rectal pain particularly after moving his bowels. Husband says it feels like his rectum(he doesn't have one) is pushing down and trying to come out of his anus, also he says he feels like he is sitting on a small ball, Is this normal? When, on average, will the pain subside? When we spoke to his surgeon during his follow up appt. after his surgery, he said this was normal. He also suffers from hemorrhoids so maybe this is part of the pain? Any and all advise is welcomed. I am at a loss. :?
