I recently had an ileostomy.
I am more than familiar with bleeding having worn a cath, nephrostomy and having to self cath and irrigate myself of bloodclots. for a couple of years.
I am on Extandy for prostate cancer
That being said, today a little blood came out of my penis while I was on the toilet. I was in the process of a bowel movement.
My question is....
will this stop?
Am I still required to cath from time to time?
Also:
Since the procedure gas passes with a strange feeling. Sometimes sharp, but it passes.
I believe that is a question you need to ask your PCP or a urologist if you have one. First I am a female, but this is my personal situation.
Back in fall 2019, I noticed blood in my underwear, assumed it was bladder cancer ( I had radiation for rectal cancer, puts me at a higher risk for bladder cancer). Saw my PCP, yep they found blood in urine, sent me off to a urologist. Guess urologist kinda of knew it was not bladder cancer (guess it was the large volume of urine I donated, not normal with bladder cancer, I wanted them to have a good sample to work with). Because of my history, Urologist decided best to run a few tests. During all of this, saw my GYN, explained situation, as she put it, never seen vagina with such scar tissue (radiation damage). Follow up with Urologist, but if they find nothing, assume it's my vagina scar damage & she thinks she may have found where it is coming from. Short version, urologist found nothing, yep every agreed vagina (radiation) damage is probably the cause.
Get a doctor's diagnoses, anything else is just a speculation.
