Hi,

Wondering if any of you have tried parasailing? I have an ileostomy and am trying to figure out where the straps go, and if tightly around stoma area. Anyone know, or have successfully gone parasailing?

It's been a long time since I've gone parasailing, in fact, I think the last time I did it, it was before my ostomy. However, I think most parasailing harnesses try to get you in a seated position where your butt takes most of the weight therefore reducing a lot of pressure around the waist. From what I can tell, most of the harnesses have straps that go around and between your legs and the strap that goes across your torso is around the area of your diaphragm, which should be out of the way of the stoma. Obviously there are different harnesses, but I think that's how most of them work. You can always call and get more specific answers from where ever you are planning on going. Have fun!

Thanks, ot dave! We made a reservation and thought I'd wait till there, but probably should call. Only on parasail for 10 minutes, so I figure it'll be OK.
