Pouch Question/Issue
Hello- I have been using Convatec pouch 413334 Surefit Drainable for 10 years- they have recently discontinued it and the "replacement pouch" is awful. It is flimsy at the drain area making it hard to open and parts are material that actually comes off in your hands/falls apart. I spoke with a nurse at Convatec who was very sympathetic and said I am one of a multitude of people who have complained about the same thing and she sent all complaints to Quality Control, but has no idea if they will ever do anything. I also sent letters to other areas of Convatec but got no reply. Does anyone have suggestions or similar problems? Is there a 2 piece drainable from another company that is hard at the bottom/ drain site? Thanks !

Re: Pouch Question/Issue
Hi Kenny: 'Am so sorry to learn you have had a negative experience with those replacement pouches. I just ordered the new ones & have all but used up my old pouches. I had received a few samples from ConvaTec which I tried successfully. My main disappointment is the price. If I am not mistaken it just about doubled because I formerly got twenty in a box & now only ten. I do realize that is probably to be expected with the state of the world, cost of producing a new product, etc. But it is still felt.
I just checked out the ConvaTec site & found this info:

I hope it went thru okay. I am still terrible with Copy & Paste links.
Please keep posting & let us know if you find a satisfactory solution.

Re: Pouch Question/Issue
I've been getting convetec since I've had mine. (ileo) little over six years.
I've only received 10 in a box. I get two boxes of both bags and wafers.
I didn't like the changes with the bag but have adjusted to them.
I never had any fall apart.
I am fortunate to get 7 days out of a change. Sometimes I change the bag hallway through because they get ratty looking. But that has always been the case.
The only thing that I didn't like is that the way they made the closure actually made the bag a tad longer. Really don't need a longer bag.
Just my experience and two cents with them.
Richard.
