Truly wish that I never did this. I can't sleep. Can't move around with feeling dizzy because of muscle issues from before the surgery. Now I have this stupid ostomy.
I can feel everything it does all day and night. I have told my ostomy specialist and nurse countless times that I can not sleep and this actually is making life worse than it was before. The only option that I was given was to reverse the ostomy but they didn't want to do that. This sucks.

Re: I hate this Ileostomy
Ostomy surgery is a major surgery and it takes time for your body to adjust to your new setup. For the time being, work with your medical team to help reduce the problems with your ostomy. If you could provide us with more information about your situation, group members would be in a better position to offer suggestions. As I see it, you actually have three options: (1) Keep your current ostomy, (2) Reverse your ostomy, and (3) Get a continent ileostomy. The third option does not require having an external bag and has provided thousands of people with a very good quality of life. I published an article in The Phoenix magazine entitled, “Researching My Options” that you may find helpful in addressing your situation. The link is:

Sorry just needed to vent because stuff has not been going well. I really do not have other options except keeping my ostomy but I am hopeful things get better soon.
