Survey-Based Research Study on Ostomate Experiences

Post by MCWColorectalSurgery »

Hello all,

I am reaching out on behalf of the Colorectal Surgery team at the Medical College of Wisconsin to inquire if any current ostomates would be interested in participating in a survey-based research study. As an academic medical center, we are committed to improving health outcomes through research, discovery, and innovation; as part of this mission, we are seeking to learn more about ostomate experiences and preferences regarding their ostomy appliances.

If you share our excitement and commitment to improving the lives of ostomates both in your own community and across the United States, we would like to invite you to take the following survey:

Participation in this study will require participation in a survey which should take approximately 10 minutes of your time. Your participation will be anonymous and you will not be contacted again in the future. You will not be paid for being in this study. This survey does not involve any foreseeable risk to you, but there is always a small risk of a potential loss of confidentiality. There are no direct benefits, though the benefits of your participation may impact society by telling us about your experience as an ostomate and your preferences regarding your ostomy appliance/what is important to you when purchasing ostomy supplies.

If you have further questions about this project or if you have a research-related problem, you may contact the project Principal Investigator, Jed Calata MD, at jcalata@mcw.edu.

Thank you for your time,

The MCW Colorectal Surgery Team
