Books/Education Resources?

Post by AKL »

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for books and resources that ya'll would recommend for someone who is adjusting to life with a brand new colostomy. Extra points if you have ideas on resources that would help family/friends adjust and understand too. I'd also love to find some stories of others who've been where she is right now and their experiences (good and bad).

Thank you for your time and suggestions!

This board was one of my best resources. You can search for just about any ostomy topic here and get answers to almost any question. That said, I also browsed Youtube. There were some well done videos there that helped me get adjusted when I first got my ostomy.

The Phoenix Magazine from UOAA has been my favorite since I first began life with an ostomy. Here is a link: https://phoenixuoaa.org/

Multiple Bowel Resections
Ileo '77 Revision '85
