AD how too

I have been perusing the discussion boards to find what info i can and most is a bit dated. I am scheduled to get an ostomy in a few weeks due to cancer. I am currently AD AF and want to shoot for continuing service. Would anyone be able to kind of guide or mentor me through the process? Or would anyone be able to pass on info for what to expect how the meb goes, goals for recovery, pt etc?
