We are conducting a survey-based study to investigate the relationship between ostomy (stoma)-related issues, body image, and psychosocial well-being among colorectal cancer survivors. Your participation is crucial in helping us understand how these factors interact and impact the lives of individuals living with an ostomy (stoma). The insights gained from this study will contribute to developing better support systems and interventions to improve the quality of life for colorectal cancer survivors.
We are looking for individuals who:
• Are 18+ years old
• Have a colostomy or ileostomy (stoma) due to Stages I–III colorectal cancer
• Are community-dwelling in the USA (not hospitalized within the last two weeks; outpatient visits are fine)
• Can read English to complete the consent form and survey
• Have no prior mood disorder (such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar) diagnoses before colorectal cancer diagnosis
• Have no significant visual, olfactory, or auditory impairments
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey that will take approximately 20 minutes. Your responses will be kept confidential. As a token of our appreciation, you will receive a $20 Amazon gift card upon successful completion of the survey. This is an electronic gift card and will be delivered to your email. Please allow several days for processing.
Before you begin the survey, we'll ask a few screening questions to determine your eligibility. If you don't meet the criteria, the survey will end automatically.
