Okay I want to take a plane trip and canisters are not allowed and take too long to come by ground shipping so I explored alternatives.

There is a difference from construction type adhesive removers and skin friendly adhesive removers.

I tried.

Neutrogena Oil Free Eyebrow Makeup Remover

Walmart Brand Oil Free Eyebrow Makeup Remover

Goof Off citrus based adhesive remover (from a hardware store)

I applied three patches of paste onto my skin (not under the wafer) and allowed them to set up and tried each one.

Both the Eyebrow Makeup Removers did well however I think the Neutrogena one worked slightly better. No red skin afterwards on either.

Goof Off says right on the packaging not to use on the skin and they were right. Washed it off with water and the skin remained red and irritated, but eventually went away.

So last bag change I used the Neutrogena product to remove the old paste residue and it did a good job, however I won't know how well the new paste held onto the skin until next bag change, so stay tuned. Note that I did wash the area well with water and a washcloth to remove any trace.

I previously tried rubbing alcohol to remove paste residue and that failed pretty bad plus it irritated the wound (and my crotch) as some touched it while cleaning.

Okay, used the Walmart brand of Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover to peel the wafer off with by pouring a little bit along the edge and crack like a spray, seemed to work just fine

Used the Neutrogena brand to douse a toilet paper and remove the remaining residue left after scraping whatever I could away. Seems to work out fine.

I'm worried about build up where the skin gets over moisturized and the paste won't stick so I used just a little soap and water very lightly scrubbed around the area and rinsed well so the skin became squeaky clean, litterly, it actually squeaks when rubbed around the stoma.

I also resorted to preparing a wafer in advance with all my modifications and three bead rings of paste laid out for a quick slap operation before I take a shower. I know quite well by now how the skin around the stoma should feel like when finger dry tested. Novices should likely.test the paste that it sticks to the skin first before putting a wafer on or wind up wasting it if it leaks later on.

My method to dry the skin around the cleaned stoma is by using a towel, then blow drying the area, then using fresh toilet paper to dab around the stoma and soak up any moisture using a fresh piece each time. Finger dry run test results with no moisture on fingers when rubbed together afterwards. Wounds must remain dry, if they are oozing stoma powder very very light amount covered by spray skin protectant is required to create a crust.
