Stoma irritation from output, need solutions

Post by Shamrock4806 »

Two years and never had this problem then all of a sudden my output is burning my stoma.

I've asked AI and it suggested I don't drink liquids unless first followed by food or a binder of some sort.

That's helps some but problem still remains.

I've taken out the liner holding the circle filter which was constraining output next to the stoma, it's helped some. The irritation seems to be primarily at the opening which is pointed at the 2 o'clock position and sort of cups output to hold it there, I feel slightly better when I rinse output off my stoma with a little gentle rubbing with clean rinse water.

So anyway I need some help because the AI on this is sorely lacking with answers. It's telling me my output is too watery, which exits the body rather fast and takes enzymes rich output which burns the stoma. However I didn't have any issue when I drank a glass of chilled ice tea this morning with a egg McMuffin, only when I got home and laid back down on the bed. Could it be my reclined position is causing it? It runs off to the right side off the stoma and if too much info dump so it's not sitting in contact with the stoma.

My diet consists of frozen meals, lactose free milk, sometimes with whey isolate protein powder, hot pockets and other small microwave meals, donuts, occasional apple juice, avocados the last two days only, Greek yogurt with fruit, applesauce in lieu of apple juice as it's a better binder.

I'm thinking it's my output that's extremely rich in enzymes, bile salts or whatever. Is there something I should be doing to reduce these effects or not contributing to it's excessiveness that I haven't realized before?

I'm at a loss here and not sure what to do.

I go on Medicare next month so I could see a gastro doc but currently I would have to pay under my ACA plan (it's only catastrophic, high deductible).

So anyway does anyone have a solution?

Looks like it's the donuts according to the AI, creates more bile salts and I wasn't drinking enough water.

So no more fat and more water.
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down...
