Illeostomy thickeners, what is your order of preference? Solved!

I find plain oatmeal works pretty good, so does crackers with just enough water to swallow them with.

Been trying marshmallows and they haven't been working out at all

Applesauce is so so also.

I'm likely prediabetic if that means anything.

What do you folks find that works for you and why?

I know you might think this is counterproductive, but psyllium, such as Metamucil, will thicken. Not just an easy laxative.

Tried it, definitely nasty tasting and no nutritional value. Oatmeal works but it stinks. Bread works but I have to watch my weight less an outtie becomes an innie.

Not drinking the RIGHT hydration mix.

Now much better, less runny output.

Nope, bananas are definitely the king of thickening for me. I have to eat only two small bites and that will do it.

Sort of a instant gel effect. 😂
