I've done all I can diet speaking to get control of my high output illeostomy so I've turned to giving the loperamide a try.
Can tell you this the mint liquid tastes absolutely horrible. I picked it because I thought I might need fine control. But the taste makes it not even worth it especially since I need to take it every 6 hours as I eat all during the day and night.
I got the Multi Symptom version for gas too, in pill form on account I been having gas pains.
So in another 6 hours I'll try the pill version.
I just hope I don't start pancaking that would be the worse.

Re: Giving Imodium AD a shot
Okay good results, ate sushi and had an ensure with chocolate which usually the chocolate gets me runny but it could on account of going over 10 RDA fat which the ensure is only 8%.
So now trying my pasta meal which I usually only put a few tablespoons of lemon ricotta herb sauce but this time I added a quite a bit more which should trigger the fatty watery response but I took an imodium AD caplet with the anti gas feature.
Let's see how it goes.
I'm liking the more food freedom I'm getting on account of the loperamide.
And I weigh myself often and noticed a slight weight gain already. Wow!
This is just day 1.

Sushi cleared smelling a bit less worse than normal.
Chocolate Ensure of course turned the world black as expected.
Gained about a pound so far. Output a bit runny near the end of the 6 hour pill cycle. So the 2mg caplet normally prescribed is performing as expected
Ensure causing gas will discontinue.

Re: Giving Imodium AD a shot
The Imodium AD multi symptom is definitely having a positive effect, I'm absorbing nutrients better and it shows in my skin tone. Should have been on it a lot sooner, they did prescribe it to me after I got out of surgery but it was the prescription type so I didn't have my act together then. Should have just told me to use Imodium AD instead.
I've reduced it down to just late mornings an hour or so before I eat my bigger meal along with vitamins then another bigger meal late afternoon when the Imodium AD is still in effect.
Gas pains have disappeared but noise factor has gone up, not SIBO as far as I can tell.
Going to give Bean-O a try.

Bean-O works, two pills before a meal eliminates the gas. Not a problem for the illeostomy neither according to AI.
I've also upped the salt in my rehydration solution and that's had a positive effect as well. Less frequent dumpings of watery output.
Here I thought I had a high output illeostomy but it's been my ORS all along.

Okay idiot me has been drinking solely from a cup with a lid and a metal straw, so no wonder I've had gas.
So now I'm off the Imodium AD on account the stronger OS should be causing less watery frequent output and off the bean-o for the gas.
I'll see how it goes now.
