Change in plans one more time. Kock Pouch now

Post by cynnycal »

Okay, so i got a call from Dr. Fazio's nurse this morning, apparently my surgeon spoke with him, and they've decided i can, after all, get the surgery as a one step.
i suspect that in the beginning there was alot of gaps in communication (as in, my doc spoke with his nurse, and his nurse spoke to him, and then relayed a message back to my doc, as opposed to the two doc's actually talking to EACH OTHER)
and i think that is what caused the thinking that i'd have to get it as a two part surgery with a one year in between wait period.

soooooo....sept. 26th i'll be going in to have it all done at once. whew. i'm soooo ready to have this on its way to being over.

now that i know for a fact i'm going in for this surgery, anyone got any pointers or tips that'll help for my first days with this new body?

Thanks! this site has been a godsend for me.

cynnycal,

That's good news for you ! Cleveland Clinic is like "Ostomy Heaven" ! All of the nurses on Dr. Fazio's floor are ET's, or at least they were when I was there in 1990, and they anticipate your every need. You will be in EXCELLENT hands.

Best of luck to you. Feel free to email me with any questions you might have.
