Colon Cancer Alliance - Conversations scheduled around US

Post by LindaAukett UOAA Advocacy »

The Colon Cancer Alliance has announced a series of "Conversations about Colorectal Cancer" - a full list of dates and locations can be seen at http://www.ccalliance.org/news_events.html .

Most will last from 8 am to 3 pm, with physician presentations and a chance for attendees to talk with each other. There is no registration charge, and lunch is provided. From the link above, you can register online.

UOAA has been invited to present a table-top display at each of the events ... local affiliated support groups will be invited to represent us at each venue.

The Colon Cancer Alliance is planning a new series of awareness events - modeled on the Indy 500 and with some people moving fast (but that's where the resemblance stops) :D

Philadelphia, PA on September 17th (Kelly Drive Bike Path)

Dallas-Fort Worth area on November 1 (White Rock Lake, at Winfrey Point)

Phoenix, AZ on November 15 (Kiwanis Park)

See http://support.ccalliance.org/site/Page ... dy_landing for more info and future dates.

All but two of the seminars are already done. Are there going to be more in 2009?

Last year they tried 10, and maybe they learned that summertime was not a good draw, nor December/winter. So it might be they will wait now till February or March of '09. The linked page will have the latest information available.
