Hi I am new to this board i have a question hopefully someone can help...I had my surgery done on 6-18-07 I ran into a couple problems after i had a stroke the day after the surgery they said it was a minor one, i also had an infection that they were not sure what it was but later found out it was c-diff, the gastro tube was stuck in my stomach for three weeks then they had to cut me back open to get it out, and finally I still have a drain in my back because of an absess on my kidney hopefully that will be removed this tuesday with the rest of my staples...anyways my question is how much cc's should you get out ever 2 hours?

It really depends on how much you are drinking. In the beginnning you will not get that much out, bit with time your pouch will get bigger and be able to hold ever increasing amounts. How much are getting out now? Are you irrigating it? Did they give you a schedule to follow? Did they say about much you should be getting out? My pouch is 16 years old and I cath about 4-6 times a day. I usually get out about 200-500 cc's, sometimes more and sometimes less. I do know my pouch can hold about 1,200 cc's. Hope they take out the tube on Tuesday, let us know what happens, ok? Judith

In addition to the volumn you will learn to recognize patterns based on the appearance of the urine. The color, consistency, and aroma are all things that give you clues about if you're healthy.

I had my pouch done in Feb. I too had a small stroke. Mine was in April. as far as how much my pouch holds about 400-650 ccs. I drink like a fish most days! I can tell when I don't because I don't have the output of urine. The more Water you drink the more your pouch will strech. I jhope you feel better.

I can hold my urine max 4 hrs during the day- put out between 300-500ml. When I get to 3.5hrs have to hold my belly like it is a bowling ball. I am trying to get it to stretch. Aileen
