Just thought I would ask here and on the general ostomy page about anyone who has a jpouch. Any success stories? Anything specific I should know or do prior to jpouch creation 3/24? Just hoping and praying it all works out. Thanks

PS I've grown quite use to my ileo and it treats me pretty good. Guess I'm nervous about fooling around with something that works for me.

Hi,

I had my J Pouch done in 1992 and I have never looked back since I left the hospital. In fact, I only went to get a pouchoscopy last year which was dumb on my part but everything is ok.

For me I had no choice. I looked like the walking dead. I remember I was so weak I couldn't walk up stairs 2 at a time. It was impossible for my muscles to do it.

Some people have trouble with it and some don't. I feel blessed and the same time a little guilty because I don't even think about it anymore.
