Fluid

Post by sheri, Cameron's mom »

Hi Jules,
Our son, Cameron, is 6 y/o and weighs around 50lbs. We use 550 ml water, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/2 adult fleet, 5 ml glycerine every night. He does well with it. I've tried to cut back on any of the ingredients and haven't had much luck. We'll do more trial and error over the summer when he's out of school.

Is Hanna having really good, chunky cleanouts? I might take her for an xray. Did she have Imperforate Anus?

Sheri, mom to Cameron 6 w/HIA (VACTERL...), ACE Malone in July 2007...doing great!

You may want to add some glycerine to that . If she is still bloated it sounds a lot like, although the flushes are going through, she is still blocked up. Especially if the liquid is coming through but you're not seeing much texture or bits, you can be pretty sure it's just cutting around the edges of the blockage. That's enough to stop the soiling, but not actually clear the bulk of whats there.
I find with biscodyl that that is something that can happen, as it's quite strong and works fast. Great stuff, but just something to keep an eye on. We still use it but in combo with glycerine and also you could try slowing it down a bit as it goes in. Put half in then wait a bit before you put the rest in to give it a bit of soaking time.
