Better but not where I want to be.

Post by ileo73 »

Sorry, more venting. Can't pick on wife or parents as they're each still beat.

Skin sore seems better. Not gone yet, and not smaller diameter. But pinker, softer, more flexible, less bleeding. I'm hoping its visibly on its way out by Thanksgiving. Just pissed today because had a couple of short term changes, but telling myself those may be signs of accelerating drainage as skin heals.

Wife still stressed about having kids. We just started seeing fertility specialists, My parents are more stressed because Mom's pain is worse and Dad's Wellbutrin is causing insomnia.

Job still irritating but getting more of a sense of support from immediate higher ups. Nice raise and new computer in immediate future.

Wish I knew what caused skin issue. So far, WOCN and surgeon both agree not pressure sore and not pyoderma.

And of course I was typing that before I realized ostomy needed third change of the day because of stupid wound dressing.

Feh.

ileo73, if I had 3 changes in a day, I would be venting too! Since this was written a month ago, I sincerely hope you are doing better now - in the length of time between changes and in other aspects of your life.

Thanks for checking in.

I've got the dressings do I can do my three to four days, and I see chronic wound fix (plastic surgeon) tomorrow.

Mom seems to have found a fix for pain and my wife and I like fertility pros and have plan in place.

But some of the surgeons I actually work with professionally....oy vey.

Hello ileo73,
So glad to hear that things are looking up for you. I hope the plastic surgeon appt on Friday was successful. Great your Mom's pain is more controllable. You mentioned that your Dad has trouble sleeping. I'll mention something which has really helped dh and I. We each have an MP3 with earbuds. We download various podcasts, audiobooks, sermons, music. We use this to help us get back to sleep if we wake up during the night. I should say when not if. Of course, we hear more of the beginning of podcasts, chapters and sermons than we do of the endings but that is a small price to pay.
Best wishes in your quest to have a child.
