Sad news about Karen/Button
I wanted to let all her friends on this board know that Karen died a few days ago. Such sad news. I am grateful for the wealth of informed advice that she provided to all of us. She was so willing to help anyone in spite of the severe challenges she faced. Rest in peace Karen.

Re: Sad news about Karen/Button
Yes, thank you. The irony of UOAA is in its constant juxtaposition of life & death. So many true friends found for a little while. . . Then lost. Yet are they? We can never truly lose someone as vital & vibrant as Karen. Or the many many others who go on before us. Look to the Phoenix. An appropriate symbol. Burning brightly. Nobly. Transcending the heartache. Pain & suffering. Despite grief. Always reaching out. Extending its very self beyond mortal limitation. Yes, rising from the ashes of despair & broken dreams. At last triumphant in its conquest of the stars.
Karen, may you be blessed by our merciful Lord with all of that gentle kindness you have shared with us. Every blessing you have bestowed returned tenfold in the sudden joyful awareness of his great love and peace.

Re: Sad news about Karen/Button
I had my surgery 8 years ago and I rarely visit this forum these days but I just happened to peek in and saw this sad news.
I am doing very well now and Karen deserves a lot of credit for that. She will be missed.

Despite all of her own pain and troubles, she gave endlessly of her time and of her hard-earned expertise to reach out and help other people. A truly kind and gallant lady!
