Hi Everyone
I wanted to get some feed back from anyone using the Stealthbelt or Comfort Belt.
I really wanted to hear from the ladies using these products. I'm curious to see if they are smooth on the body or do they make the appliance appear more bulky. I understand this depends on the product the person uses, but in general.
I understand there are different types of belts, slip on, Velcro fastening, and they can be custom made.
What do you guys recommend ?
I've always wore on appliance vertical, and I was surprised to see a youtuber say he wears his horizontally, maybe a lot of people wear theirs like this, it's new to me. And I'm happy that there are options for people who wear an appliance.
Do the women like these product ? an would you recommend them.
I appreciate any feed back on this matter.
Thanks

Re: Stealthbelt / Comfort Belt
Hi Dublingirl,
The jury (me) is still out on the belt that an ostomy nurse suggested I buy after my ileostomy. I'd had a hernia and this was my 3rd open abdominal surgery back in late 2018 and my abdominal muscles needed support -- and still do. She recommended the Safe N Simple Security Support Belt – http://sns-medical.com/wp-content/uploa ... ocrops.pdf I'm unfamiliar with the ones you mentioned and will check. Manufacturer of Comfort Belt?
Up until very recently, I had a LOT of problems with leakage because my ileostomy was created on top of a pre-existing scar so the abdominal skin caved in and out -- and stool would escape. As I didn't want to get this belt dirty and was doing laundry constantly, I stopped wearing it. I did buy the one with the hole for the pouch and Velcro closure. Am unsure if the hole for opening of the pouch is that helpful but I was concerned about "pancaking" if my ostomy didn't have a way to allow the constant flow to slide down -- and still am. My (and her mistake) is that this belt Is not wide enough for support of my abdomen. It's comfortable but I'd like more support and a wider one. I recently wrenched my side badly because I wasn't using my abdominal muscles and the belt probably would have helped. It not visible under clothes in tan and not bulky at all. I wear my pouch vertically but the opening would accommodate horizontal placement, I suppose. I do like Safe N Simple products quite a bit.
So, now that leakage is less of a challenge, I'll be trying the belt again. I know several others here can offer advice.
I do like Comfizz underwear products. There is some light pressure against the abdomen which feels good and keeps everything in place. However, at this point, I'd probably need something stronger like this belt. I would suggest you think about a wider belt for abdominal support.
Good luck. Will be interested to see if other gals post.
