would sleeping with the cathedar in prolong the life of a stoma. I'm referring to many months after surgery.

What type of pouch do you have, urinary? How long ago was the surgery done? Why do you still have the catheter in, is it your doctor who wants you to keep it in?

It's a kock pouch & I was thinking about leaving it in because I don't think I can get too many [if any] more revisons.

are you having problems with inserting the catheter to empty at all that would warrant keeping the catheter in throughout the night?

leaving in cathedar

no, I'm not having trouble now; but my stoma revisions are lasting only about 6 months & I'm trying to initiate some more miles out of this last surgery. Maybe it would widen the opening. I just thought if I do something different, I'll stop getting strictures.

kmt,
This is something you should talk to your surgeon about. I'm not sure it would be good or bad for your pouch.
